Orion Times
We provide 32.9 hours for Reception and KS1 and 33.3 hours for KS2. In addition to these hours we run a variety of after school activities for Y1-Y6 children which change on a termly rotation. We also run an extended day on a Wednesday until 3.40pm for Reception to Y6 for selected weeks of the school year.
7.30 - 8.30 : Breakfast Club Provision (paid)
8.30 - 8.45 : Arrive at school and get to class - early work
8.45 : Registration
3.05 : End of Day for Reception, Y1 & Y2
3.10 : End of Day for KS2
3.10 - 6pm : After School Hub (paid care)

We offer both paid and FEE2 funded places for 2 year olds.

Is my child eligible for a FEE2 funded place?
Applying for any nursery place must be done via the school office. The registration form is available to download below. Contact for all nursery admissions is Charmaine Harrison, the office manager. You will need to show your child's birth certificate and proof of address.
The Orion is a 4 form entry, fully inclusive school.
Each year there are 120 Reception places.
School places are offered in accordance to Barnet's admissions criteria.
The school is currently over-subscribed.
The school has no power or sway over decisions made by the Admissions Team.

In-Year Admissions
This is an application made for your child after the September that they would start in Reception. These admissions must be made via the link below and are made to Barnet not directly to the school.
If a child is leaving The Orion the parent should notify the school office. The school office will then liaise with the new school and inform Barnet's Admissions Team that a place has become available within a certain year group. Barnet will then offer a place according to the waiting list for that year group.
