Home Learning 

We know things are a little bit different at the moment, but we've tried to make this as exciting and easy for you to still enjoy your learning at home.  Check our Mr F's NEW #OneKindLearningChannel on YouTube, have a look at the Home Learning page where you'll find lots of links, games and advice.  Stay safe!

Update

• Children will be in school on Thursday and Friday.
• From Monday 23 March the school will be closed.
• Some children CAN come to school on March 23. Families will be contacted when we have heard from the government. Here is a rough idea…if your child has an EHCP, if your child is a vulnerable child (you receive help from social services) and if you are a key worker.
• Home learning packs have been prepared for all pupils.
• One Kind Learning begins on Monday for all our pupils.
• We will announce services for you at our hub (school) as soon as we can.

The Gold Star Family will get through this time.

Coronavirus - Hands, Faces, Spaces 

Our schools are currently helping children and adults stay safer with a hygiene campaign called Hands Faces Spaces. The aim is to help everyone understand how to actively reduce the spread of infection.  Have a closer look at the documents below to find out more. 

World Book Day 2020

We celebrated World Book Day slightly differently this year, as we all wore traditional clothes and colours from our countries.  Thank you to everyone for making such an incredible effort!

The Tech Show

Word Up Week Two

Word Up continued with more incredible visitors - adventurous author Marcus Alexander wowed us all with his exciting stories from around the world.  We were also lucky enough to meet travel writer, author, radio and tv presenter Sarah Tucker who inspired us all - thank you! Check out the Word Up 2020 page to find out more.

Word Up! Word Up!

Word Up 2020 is here and what an incredible first week we've had.  Huge thanks to our special guests,storyteller Phil McDermott and climate change activist David Saddington.  We've also been busy with our brand new doodle books, writing about what might have happened to the Do It Dude and the awesome opening show.  Check out the Word Up 2020 page to find out more.

Holocaust Memorial Day

Think Pink

Happy New Year and welcome back!  We’ve had an amazing first week of 2020, thinking PINK to rock the world with kindness.  Huge thanks to our local MP Matthew Offord who came to announce the winner of the Christmas Card competition - well done Farah!

Christmas Lunch

Huge thanks to our incredible kitchen team and everyone else who helped make it such a special Christmas lunch for everyone here at Orion.  

Starlight

The theatre was transformed into Lewis Carroll’s classic novel, ‘Alice in Wonderland’ for our Starlight Festival.  Have a look at the incredible artwork on show from our very talented children.  Thanks to everyone who came along.

Royal Institution

At the start of December, 32 super enthusiastic Year 6 scientists visited the world famous Royal Institution in London to spend a day in the Young Scientist Centre.  Working in the science lab, the children were able to extract their own DNA by collecting their own cheek cells from their mouths and then using chemicals to extract the DNA from their cells.  They all came back to school proudly wearing necklaces attached to which were miniature test tubes containing their DNA!  It was a wonderful day and everyone used their Power for Good to work so scientifically in the lab!

12 Days of Kindness 

Our Kindness Kids have been busy during DO IT December, writing letters to different people each day.  Can you help them spread messages of kindness?

Art Night

Thanks to everyone who came along to our Art Night.  It was lovely to see so many families sharing quality time together here at Orion - thank you!

MOVEmber

Fireworks

Thank you to everyone who came along to our fireworks night on Thursday.  It was lovely to see so many families from Orion and Goldbeaters come together for another special evening.  Thank you!

Monster Kindness Day!

We were blown away by the incredible effort from our families - you all looked amazing!  Another important day here at Orion, as Kaptain K reminded everyone the importance of being kind and that it's what's on the inside that counts.

World Smile Day!

It was lovely to see so many smiles and happy faces at school for another special day here at Orion - thank you all!  We'll keep smiling throughout Rocktober as we help Kaptain K rock the world with kindness!

Macmillan Coffee Morning

World Peace Day

What an awesome day of celebrations for World Peace Day!  Thanks to all the parents who came to our 'whirled peace day' coffee morning, our amazing readers, actors, musicians, dancers and of course Kaptain K and the Kindness Crew!  Another special day for the Orion and Goldbeaters family - thank you all!

TA Appreciation Day

We had a brilliant time saying thank you to our incredible team of TAs and support staff who really do go the extra mile to make a difference every single day - we couldn't do it without you. Thank you all so much!
