The Year 5 team are excited for another fantastic year ahead! Please take some time to read the following important information.

Packed lunches and snacks: Year 5 pupils should bring in a healthy packed lunch and snack. This should not include fizzy drinks or chocolate. Snacks can consist of fruit or vegetables.
Homework: Literacy and Numeracy homework will be handed out on Thursday. It must be returned on Tuesday morning. As part of their Numeracy homework, children will also be expected to do online Mathletics. Please allow your child access a laptop/tablet/phone weekly for this purpose.
Champion Reading: Children will receive a colour-banded book and they will be able to choose a book from the class library. Children should read for 10 minutes at least 5 times a week. Please help your child by signing their Champion Reader/Number card daily to prove they have read.
Champion Number: Children should practise their times tables for 5 minutes every day. Please sign their Champion Reader/Number card daily!
PE: PE kits should be brought to school on Monday and taken home to be washed on Friday. Children should have the correct Orion PE kits; these can be purchased from the school office. PE is an important part of the curriculum and will take place whatever the weather! Jogging bottoms and jumpers will be needed in the winter.
